If you choose to travel by air,\u00a0Edinburgh\u00a0Airport<\/a>\u00a0is only 8 miles (12km) from Edinburgh city centre with frequent connecting services by Airlink bus, tram or taxi and a journey time of approximately 30 minutes.<\/h3>\n

Edinburgh Airport is Scotland\u2019s busiest airport, serving 120 worldwide destinations with frequent direct flights from main international hubs including Amsterdam, Dublin, Paris, Geneva and Frankfurt, and direct long-haul services to the USA, Canada and the Middle East. In addition, if you are travelling via London, there is an average of 50 flights daily between the UK\u2019s two capital cities.<\/h3>\n

By train<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Edinburgh has two city centre train stations, Waverley, located at the east end, and Haymarket, located at the west end, of Princes Street.\u00a0Both are within walking distance of many of the city\u2019s hotels and conference venues.<\/h3>\n

Both stations are linked to all major cities and airports in Britain, with a high-speed link from London in just over four hours.\u00a0National Rail Enquiries<\/a>\u00a0is the portal for UK rail travel and includes information on train times, fare enquiries and online ticket purchases.<\/h3>\n

By road<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

A journey on the motorways and major road network to Edinburgh, will take you through some spectacular scenery.\u00a0National Express<\/a>\u00a0is the main coach operator and offers direct connections from all major UK cities to Edinburgh St Andrew Square, the modern coach station in the heart of the city centre.<\/h3>\n

Public Transportation<\/span><\/h2>\n

Once you get to Edinburgh, you’ll find that getting around is just as simple. There are several options from Council licensed taxi operators, a public bus service or a modern new tram system.<\/h3>\n

Bus<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Lothian Buses<\/a>\u00a0is Edinburgh\u2019s award- winning public bus service and operates a frequent timetable in and around the city. There are a variety of ticket types available and an \u2018exact fare\u2019 system is in operation or download the\u00a0Transport for Edinburgh app<\/a>\u00a0for mobile ticketing.<\/h3>\n

Tram<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Edinburgh\u2019s modern new\u00a0tram service<\/a>\u00a0launched in May 2014 and provides the quickest\u00a0journey between Edinburgh Airport and the city centre at the east end, stopping at key transport links, conference & event venues.<\/h3>\n

To and from Edinburgh Airport<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We would recommend either taking a licensed taxi, tram, or the Airlink bus service from Edinburgh Airport into the city centre. A discount for the Airlink bus service is\u00a0available here<\/a>. Once you have made your booking you can print your selection before you arrive in Edinburgh.<\/h3>\n
